I knew Diane in grade school in south Minneapolis, before moving to Edina in seventh grade. We went to Girl Scout summer camp together after fifth grade and we played a piano duet for our sixth grade talent show, going downtown on the bus to visit her piano teacher to practice our piece. Our paths didn't cross very often in high school, which I regret. She was a sweet and fun person and it makes me sad to think she missed out on so much of life.
