Thomas P. Dennison

Thomas P. Dennison

We are saddened by the recent loss of our classmate, Tom Dennison. Here is the obituary published in the Star Tribune.

Dennison, Tom P. age 68, of Mpls, passed away December 20, 2014 from glioblastoma and aggressive brain cancer. Preceded in death by his parents, Paul T. Dennison and June P. Rabenstein. Survived by life partner, David Omer; sister, Marlys Dorfer; niece, Michelle Dorfer; and great-niece, MaKenna; niece Kelly Dorfer Heide (Craig); and great-nephews, Keaton and Camden. Tom faced the challenges of living with the cancer with dignity and courage. His defiant attitude, tenacious spirit, sense of humor and graciousness continued to be apparent even as his abilities declined. Tom was self-employed as a computer tech consultant. He biked almost everywhere and enjoyed gardening, composting and feeding the birds in his backyard. He liked to cook and bake and was especially appreciated for his delicious loaves of french bread, his deep-dish pizza and special spaghetti sauce, and the killer lemon bars he frequently took to work as a treat. He will be remembered for his convoluted conversations, twinkling blue eyes, and his kindness, helpfulness and empathy towards others. We are grateful to the staff of Walker Methodist Health Care and Park Nicollet Hospice for their compassionate care as well as the doctors and staff at Methodist Hospital for the care and treatments that enabled Tom to spend more time with us. At Tom's request, a celebration of life was held in August 2013 for close friends, family and co-workers as Tom wanted to be present and able to participate and enjoy the day. Private interment.

I didn't know Thomas but after reading the memorial for him, his personality, interests and humor just jump off the page.  Whoever wrote the memorial did a marvelous job of relaying who he was.  Thomas sounded like a very interesting person who I would have enjoyed knowing.  I am sorry for his loss.

Thank you Dana, for alerting us that we had an incorrect photo posted for Tom. Apparently, the yearbook had Dennision and De Winter switched. It has now been corrected.
