Bob, I don't know if you ever married or had a family, but I commend you for being a teacher.  I hope

you lived a happy life and died peacefully.

Rest in peace, Bob

My neighborhood buddy who lived two blocks up the hill on Hansen Rd.  We shared many hours after school trying to stay out of mischief - often times it was to no avail especially in the winter when we would pummel the neighbor kids (all younger than us) with snowballs from our hidden fort.  And then there was learning to drive - often going with each other, depending on who got the wheels.  We slid around a corner one winter afternoon in my mother's Mercury Comet - narrowly missing the bright red fire hydrant protruding from the snow bank - now that would have taken some explaining.  And the time you spun your VW beetle while giving a couple of young ladies a lift to a church event.  It must have been the skills we learned through the school driver education program that got us through without incident.  We went our separate ways after graduation even though we both remained in the Mpls. area.  Life was cut short for you but that did not erase our childhood memories.  RIP good friend, we miss you.
