Gary Major held the coveted post of Chief in the Edina Stomper Society.  Throughout Gary's career he maintained the high ideals of the society, especially in his service to our nation during his heroic actions in the USArmy and during his wonderfully unselfish endeavors in the private sector. Gary's mark on the world will always be considered huge, in keeping with the size of his stature.

I remember Gary well down through the Edina school years...one of the kind and humorous souls that punctuate our most pleasant school memories and early relationships. By God we're getting on...aren't we?

Gary Major and I met in our senior year in Mrs Hagemiester's Spanish class.  It was my first year in the Edina Public School System, but Gary was a veteran in the Edina system by that time. He helped me make the transition from an all boys boarding school to a large public coed institution.  Like Gary and Ron Reigert, I was also a proud founding member of the Stompers' Society.  A great friend, a good young man and a very successful older man.  He and his wife of 44 years were blessed with three super boys and three grandchildren.  We remained good friends in close contact until his untimely death.  I will really miss this fine man!

One of the nicest people in the class of 1964. Definitely the tallest. Seems like just a few days ago, we were talking at the 50th renunion.
