Robert Raymond James, age 66 of Edina, MN passed away on September 14, 2012. Born in Mason City, Iowa on May 27, 1946, he was the fifth child of Thomas and Frances James. He was a Vietnam veteran and a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient. He married his soul mate, Donna Stucki "Twig" in 1969. He was a devoted husband, an exemplary father, and a loving grandfather. His sense of humor, delightful wit, his warm and generous spirit has enhanced the many lives he touched. His greatest joy in life was making others laugh and smile, whether through delivering donuts and coffee, playing practical jokes, or just stopping by to say hello. He will be greatly missed by many, but has left us with many stories to keep us laughing. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Frances James, and brother, Phillip James. He survived by his wife, Donna of 43 years; five children, Tim James (Julie), Tom James, Jennifer Daravingas (Bill), Heather Sullivan (Ryan), Tiffany Christensen (Pat), and his greatest love, his six grandchildren, along with his sidekick dog, Murphy; his siblings, Doug (Jane), Thomas (Sondra), Judith, and Charles (Annie). Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 19th at Christ the King Church at 5029 Zenith Ave S Minneapolis at 11 am with the visitation starting at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the American Diabetes Association and/or American Heart Association.

Bob James, I remember you from high school.  You always had a smile on your face if not just downright laughing.  It's so difficult to read that you passed away at such a young age and didn't live to see your grandchildren grow up.  Life is funny, but when you're called, I guess you have to go.
