In Memory

Tim Kirk

Tim Kirk

Tim and I were very close friends. He had just graduated from Macalester and was engaged to be married that summer (1968). He and his fiance were driving to Kansas City for their wedding and were in a terrible accident. She was not hurt badly but Tim was killed. I was in the wedding party along with fellow classmate, Dick Nelson. We were pall bearers instead.

Jim-

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear friend, Tim, under such heartbreaking circumstances. A life cut too short and at the time that should have been new beginnings.

Tim and I were good friends. I remember him sitting behind me in Latin and we would have contests as to who could hold their breath longer. When I heard the news of his death, I called his home and spoke to his sister. I was crushed. The shock of having a friend die in those circumstances and at that time in his life was a blow. Tim was a great guy. What a loss.

What a terrible tragedy.  This is something that really has no words, it's so heartbreaking.  Tim and

his bride-to-be had their whole life ahead of them, it was cut short so soon and so tragically,.

Rest in peace, Tim.
