I sat across the aisle from Marsha in one of our classes. She was a tall girl, very sweet and I remember her as liking a good party. We sent notes to each other about whatever you send notes for in class, probablyabout a dorky teacher, but we'd always end up laughing uncontrollably.
She passed away in November 1966 in a car accident.
Marsha was my cousin. One of my 1st friends too. She was coming home from a ski weekend in Wisconsin and lost her life in a car accident. That's a phone call I'll never forget. She had a warm spirit - Their family lived for a time in an old farm house where Southdale sits now (before her dad and grandfather built their home on Tracy) she found a dead mouse and insisted we have a funeral for it. A shoe box and a shovel later we did just that. She cared even for a small mouse! And yes, that laughter! A beautiful spirit for sure. Our family missed out on a lifetime of Marshas presence.
I remember Marsha from Latin class. Her smile and laugh were infectious. It's heartbreaking to think she died before she had a chance to fully live her life...what a terrible loss to her family and friends.
Marsha and I knew each other back in Mpls. She lived across the street from me. How we passed the time away playing together! I moved to Edina and years later we connected again. This time we spent time at each others house playing cards or WALKING. I was sorry we grew apart. Many great memories still for me... so sad when I went to her funeral (with my 1 year old Daughter) ... Marsha missed out on having her own family, that saddens me the most. She was a true friend to me.

So sad to lose our classmate tragically at such a young age.
