Lewis, Kathryn J. age 68, of Edina. God needed another guardian angel and called Kathy home on July 2, 2015 after fighting her ten year battle with cancer; she was surrounded by her family. When you think of Kathy, you think "remarkable", fighting cancer as she did for 10 years, with such determination and resolve, a positive attitude, subjecting herself to countless chemo treatments, blood transfusions, radiation and a whole host of probing tests. Kathy passed away fighting as the extraordinary woman she was. Kathy played competitive tennis 5 days a week. She loved the game which engaged her competitive spirit, giving 100% to win every match. Kathy was the President of the Interlachen CC Ladies 18-Hole golf league. She was the first employee at the Flagship Athletic Club being promoted from membership sales to Director of member activities and then took on the added responsibility as tennis director. She also served as the Indian Hills Council President. Kathy's ultimate passion was her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Pat; children, Tiffany (Jim) Frank, Kelly (Naomi) Lewis, Tina Lewis and Traci Lewis; grandchildren, Patrick, Connor, Gavin, Marissa, Spencer, Brooke, Maggie, Morgan, Ella, Annabelle and Savannah; brothers, David (Martha) Allum, Tom (Kim) Allum, Jerry (Carmen) Allum; sister, Judy (Pat) Wilhelmson. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Ruth Allum; brothers, Steven Allum and Chuck Allum Jr. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Thursday, July 9 with visitation beginning at 10 AM at the Church of St. Patrick, Valley View at Gleason Road, Edina. Memorials preferred to the Kathy Lewis Memorial Fund. Kathy will be remembered for her radiant smile and her consistently positive attitude; she was truly a class act. She will be dearly missed by her family and countless friends. Washburn-McReavy.com Edina Chapel 952-920-3996

I had no classes in high school with either Pat or Kathy, but that doesn't lessen the feeling of sadness I felt when I learned of her death from breast cancer. She appeared so vibrant and pretty at our 50th reunion. My deepest condolences to Pat and the entire Lewis family.
