Hey, anyone free today? Open Streets on Nicollet Ave around 36th to 46th st.
I will be sitting out with my old cars on display, a nice day to wander around so come on down!
My earliest experience with motorized toys was with Torrey in the late 50's- he got a go cart which seemed so much fun- racing around low to the ground. My parents were against the idea, but I still lusted after that speedy feeling, so I thought I would build my own! That idea was still born, no place to do it! But I got a Doodlebug scooter which I fixed up for quietly cruising. Then I got caught one night, underage, driving without lights, Harvey Allison was on the back! I lost track of Torrey when the expanding family moved to a newer house, leaving Lakeview Drive behind. But my motoring lust never left, still building things for fun & speed. Thanks Torrey for setting my heart's course in the proper direction! RIP

Here we are at the end of 2022, I wonder what you all have been through?
I have managed to get away, enjoying a little warm island play!
But tough winter stories have hit the news, I am on the beach while you may be singing the blues!
Just think- in another year and a half, we will all be having a laugh- our 60 year celebration will be in line, so I can only hope some folks find the time, to organize- then we can fraternize!
I have seen so few of you, the 55 year party I invited you all to, but now my house in Minnetrista was sold, we felt we were getting to old- looking after the 5 acres was a lot of land, we changed our minds- creating a new plan!
But maybe I will still have my car shop- after 50 years there I m not ready to stop!
Who has a mind to put it out, see what we can think about?
Happy New year-2023 looks great to me,
Mark Brandow

This is a sad loss- Mike was so engaged in the larger world & development overseas. We shared the Peace Corps Volunteer life early on, both in Malaysia, but it formed a bond that stayed with us. He often shared what was going on in the Friends Of Malaysia group he belonged to, encouraging my participation. His career gave him a unique insight to World Affairs- he was a valued friend for many of us. Rest In Peace.

Ran into Richard Michaels, a fellow classmate, at a hill climb in Wisconsin.
He has married & moved to Alma on Main Street, still has a love for MG’s and motorcycles. Told him to join the website so he would be in the link.
He said he would come up if I host a yard party in Minnetrista, so think about an occasion to celebrate!
Happy Halloween, Mark
